Arabella is the type of girl that already has her next party picked out for the next year the second after the current party finishes. She knew right away when she turned 4 that for her 5th party she wanted it to be a frozen theme. Her birthday is in the summer and its always a fun HUGE bash. It’s easy enough to invite all our family, our family friends, and friends from school. We always have it in our backyard and have mostly had perfect weather. This year I wanted to have the party tented. Our backyard has limited shade and with the hot sun this was a great way to keep the activities as cool as we could.
BIRTHDAY BEAUTY
For me there is NOTHING better than celebrating my kids. I love seeing them light up and have a magical day for their parties. This is the exact reason I put all the work in. For me to see their joy it is just as joyful as the joy they are having (that's so wordy but do you know what I mean?)
INVITATIONS
Her invitations were so fun! I included fake snow, where you just add water to the invites so the kids could have a fun interactive activity to go along with the paper invite. I added a TBS of the concentrated snow to a small bag and sealed it with a sticker that I printed directions on, all you had to do was add 1/4 water and you got about 2 cups snow! It didn’t cost any more to mail because it was so light.
BALLOON ARCH WITH NAME
Clearly I love a good balloon arch, I think they add a special element visually to any party and honestly its a big impact for not to expensive.
SAND ART CRAFT
These were such a hit! The perfect craft for kids ages 3-10 really. I have never seen BOYS AND GIRLS both spend so much time on a craft, I highly recommend these for party entertainment.
SUGAR SCULPTURE ACTIVITY
This was fairly simple. It was basically just building blocks and I put the frozen characters by them so the kids could make a castle and then play.
SNOW GLOBE CRAFT
This was just a super simple craft that parents could turn into a little ornament if they wanted to add string. There was a paper insert inside that the kids could color, I added markers to the table.
PARTY FAVORS
I found these cute Frozen theme coloring and activity kits, wrapped them in clear gift wrap and tied them up with a jumprope. Of course added a custom thank you tag.
CAKE
Possibly my favorite part of every party. I have a go to bakery that I use, Bentfork Bakery. This year we did chocolate cake with white frosting and they did a beautiful job as usual. I love doing an ornament cake topper, so we can have a memory on the Christmas tree each year of what they were into at that age.
SNOW CONES
This was such a hit and the best thing I’ve personally ever bought! You need to have snow cones or something frozen at a frozen party, the kids absolutely loved the snow cones! We love our snow cone maker and still continue to use it.
THE REAL ELSA
We couldn’t have the party happen without having Elsa come all the way from Erindale. She played games with the kids, read a book, did some simple face paint. She was a huge hit with the kids.
THANK YOUs
At this point this is kind of my signature thing, I love a good photo card so I always send a cute pic of the birthday girl with a thank you. I always include a picture of all the kids at the party on the back side.
SNOW DIG
What kids don’t like digging for treasure? Another thing I always do is a treasure dig. Last year it was in hay, the year before it was in sand and this year it was in snow. I just include tiny little trinkets for the kids to take home in their to-go bag.
PHOTO WALL
Incorporating Elsa’s famous blue and white colors I thought it would be fun to do a textured photo wall. This ended up making the most beautiful back drop. I used plastic table cloth and cut it into strips and the looped it through a string and did a few layers. I later cut it into diagonal v’s to give it a little more texture. It was perfect!
THE BIRTHDAY GIRLS DRESS (+ her sister’s)
Every birthday for the girls if I have time I will make their birthday dress. They really love being involved in this process. First designing, then going to the fabric store to pick out fabric and trims. They even help sew a little bit! It’s so fun to share this experience and my craft with them. They really look forward to wearing it and I think even feel that much more special on their day! I also made my dress to sorta match theirs! It was so comfy and I loved it!
COOKIE ROADIE
Not that they kids ever need more sugar after a party, I do love to send them home with some sort of sweet treat. This year we did rates chocolate chip cookies, a favorite of Arabella’s at the time. We personalized the package with a little sticker.
This was by far one of my favorite parties I've thrown. I feel like as I get more experience they get a little better each time. The theme was awesome, the people were fun and turning 5 was a big deal! We had the best time celebrating with all of our family & friends.
